VC Adoption Tracker - Moderator Guide

This document provides instructions to Moderators.

Logging in as a Moderator

Go to the Moderator Login page, by clicking the link below:

Enter your username and password.

You will be directed to the VC Adoption Tracker, but you will notice additional buttons are available to you, headed “Moderator Controls”.

Review New Proposals

If there are new proposals ready for review, the “Review New Proposals” button will be enabled, and the counter to the right of the button will indicate how many new proposals there are.

Click the “Review New Proposals” button to see a list of new proposals.

Select one by checking the radio button, and click the “Review” button.

You will see the entire proposed entry, for you to review, and make edits as necessary.

Note that the “Notes for Moderator” field may have been filled in by the proposer, asking for some structural changes.  If so, check the “Refer to Administrator” checkbox, and click the “Save as Proposed” button.   An Administrator will be notified, and will review the structural changes requested.

If you determine that this entry should be published, click the “Publish” button.

The entry will be published immediately.

If you determine that this entry should not be published, click the “Reject” button.

The proposed entry will be recorded as rejected, but will remain in the database.

If you are unsure, you may leave the entry in a Proposed state, after adding comments for a future review, by clicking the “Save as Proposed” button.

Review Proposed Updates

If there are proposed updates ready for review, the “Review Proposed Updates” button will be enabled, and the counter to the right of the button will indicate how many proposed updates there are.

Click the “Review Proposed Updates” button to see a list of proposed updates.

Select one by checking the radio button, and click the “Review” button.

You will see the entire proposed update on the left, for you to review, with the old version on the right.  Fields that have been updated are highlighted in red.  You may make edits as necessary.

Note that the “Notes for Moderator” field may have been filled in by the proposer, asking for some structural changes.  If so, check the “Refer to Administrator” checkbox, and click the “Save as Proposed” button.  An Administrator will be notified, and will review the structural changes requested.
